let me tell you about my all time favorite kitchen appliance. the dehydrator.

it is life changing. at least it was for me.

if you love dried fruit and veggie chips, this is definitely worth the investment. i can tell you that i've used it for many different things, and it works so well! it is also perfect for when your mum buys a ridiculous amount of produce at the farmer's market, and gives you half of it... which you cannot possibly go through before it goes bad.

all it takes is to slice the fruit or veggie into thin slices, season it with some spices (or not) and pop it in for at least 6 hours, and in most cases no longer than 12. it really depends on what you are dehydrating. if you like it crispier, then you leave it in for longer, or take it out earlier if you like them chewy.

some things i've dehydrated and turned out really yummy include:

- apples
- pears
- strawberries
- bananas
- peaches
- kiwis
- mangoes
- carrots
- zucchini
- mushrooms
- kale
- pickles (yes it does work)
- potatoes
