yes, this is a little bit late. it has been 2012 for an entire week already!
as for new years eve, lets just say, ever since i can remember, i've never really had a good one. not that anything terrible happens, but its never that great, and most of the time im just sick and sitting watching tv all night.
this year, of course something had to come up. i found out im allergic to shrimp, and most likely shellfish... my parents now have a tradition where they make sushi for new years. this year was no exception. i was determined not to be a bum again, so i helped out, i was excited for the food, and approximately an hour after eating a few shrimps (which i cannot remember the last time i ate) i began to choke, i couldn't breathe, i turned red, runny eyes, coughing, etc. we took a look at everything i ate that night, and looked it up online, and it would appear that what i experience was typical of a shellfish allergic reaction... i a little bummed out about this, for now there is even more i cannot eat. but at the same time, the way i felt was so scary, that im cool not eating shellfish if that means never experiencing that again!
so. the beginning of the night was pretty crappy... but once i took my meds, and i was no longer struggling to breathe, the night did in fact take a turn for the better. we watched meet the parents (it was on tv) then much more music had a retro countdown till midnight, which was AWESOME! and while we waited for the new year, we pulled out my sisters new trivial pursuit, and had some good ol fashion family fun :)
oh, and the best part was after we busted out the champagne, we put on the emperors new groove. best movie.
