presents!

what a great christmas! as usual, my family celebrates on christmas eve. we decorate our tree on the 24th in the morning. the rest of the day before dinner involves a lot of cleaning, baking, cooking, decorating, etc. after a few hours you're sick of it all, and all you want to do is nap. BUT once you sit down to the amazing meal that we pretty much only eat once a year, it is totally worth it!

the dinner consists of 12 different dishes, each representing one of the 12 apostles. the point is to eat a lil bit of everything. i admit i dont always manage. its a lot of food!

once everyone has finished eating, all the kiddies run upstairs and look for the christmas star. yes. we still to this day do this. when we return downstairs, presents have magically appeared under the tree. my family opens all the gifts on christmas eve. so normal for us, it would be odd opening them in the morning.

after we have opened gifts, we hang out for a bit, and then head over for mass.

after that.... national lampoons christmas vacation!!!!!

and bed.

this is how we celebrate, and how we have celebrated since i can remember. its a mix of polish traditions, as well as some personal family ones. now christmas had become ever better because i get to spend it with my mister :)

christmas 2011 --- PERFECT
